DAWD

– EST 2013 –

Dave Fortier, also known as DAWD, is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary Ottawa-based artist whose creative journey began in 2013. Since then, his artistic evolution has been nothing short of exceptional, marked by a whirlwind of colour and community acclaim. His debut showcase, “Colourblind,” held at the Urban Art Collective Studio, was a colour soaked occasion, countoured by chromatic expression, inviting viewers to dive headfirst into a kaleidoscope of emotion.

Working across mediums including acrylics, oils, charcoal, and upcycled frames, DAWD’s process defies convention, blending traditional techniques with a boundless spirit of experimentation.

DAWD’s signature style is a symphony of bold shapes and daring colour choices, challenging the boundaries of art. Each piece is a catalyst for conversation, whether at a late night dinner party or musing with an early morning coffee.

At the heart of DAWD’s creative vision lies a deep connection to music, infusing his work with a rhythm and energy that resonates with the soul. His art serves as a conduit for connectivity, bridging the gap between artist and audience in a state of shared experience.

Through his art, DAWD encourages us to engage our senses. It is not just observed; it is experienced urging observers to feel the textures. In a world defined by perspective, his work reminds us that we are the lens that creates the shapes waiting to be discovered in the depths of our own imagination.
